eni ACER are high-quality lubricants used in oil circulation systems and hydraulic circuits. They are obtained from carefully selected paraffinic base oils, in which antioxidant and anti-rust additives are incorporated (R&O oils (anti-rust, anti-oxidation), ISO-L-CKB and ISO-L-HL). The oils are formulated in several viscosity grades that can satisfy all practical requirements.
Characteristics (typical values):
| Viscosity at 100°C | mm2 /s | 6.8 |
| Viscosity at 40°C | mm2 /s | 44 |
| Viscosity index | - | 100 |
| Flash point COC | °C | 226 |
| Pour point | °C | -18 |
| Density at 15°C | kg/l | 0.873 |
Properties and performances:
* eni ACER oils have high viscosity indices which ensure a reduced variation in viscosity with temperature, thus ensuring a suitable lubricating film for a wide range of operating temperatures.
* The oils have good oxidation stability and aging resistance.
* Products have low pour points; some of them have viscosities that ensure flow at -20 °C
* Having a good water separation capacity, it does not form stable emulsions that would result in loss of lubricating capacity.
* Excellent anti-foam properties and the ability to quickly release entrained air provide excellent compression strength. This requirement for hydraulic fluids prevents pumping or circulation difficulties and reduces degradation due to temperature and oxidation. * The oils have good anti-rust properties.
* The oils are compatible with common elastomers (they do not produce deformations and/or significant variations in hardness).
Uses:
* eni ACER oils can be used as hydraulic fluids for both hydrostatic and hydrodynamic circuits (except automatic transmissions for passenger cars), especially when high anti-rust, anti-aging and water-separation (demulsification) properties are required. They will not be used in pumps and installations requiring boundary layer lubrication (thin film), as they do not possess anti-wear properties. These products are recommended, in particular, for circulation or oil bath lubrication systems for a wide range of machine parts, such as, for example:
- sliding bearings
- rolling bearings (bearings);
- connecting rod-crank mechanisms;
- oil bath couplings and joints;
- gears that do not operate under EP conditions (Hertz loads below 1000 MPa ≈ 10,000 kgf/cm2, limit which can be substantially reduced in the case of high flow rates and shock loads).
* The oils can also be used for the lubrication of air compressors. Viscosity classes 32, 46, 68 and 100 are at the VCL level according to DIN 51506, while ACER 150, 220, 320 and 460 are at the VBL level. These oils can also have other uses than lubrication, and can be used where the properties of high-quality paraffinic oils are required. eni ACER 100, in special cases, is used as crankcase oil in large, water-cooled diesel engines with separate cylinder and crankcase lubrication.
