eni ARNICA are mineral-based lubricants specially formulated for use in hydraulic systems requiring fluids with extremely high viscosity indices and very low pour points (according to ISO-L-HV specification).

Characteristics (typical values):

Viscosity at 100°C mm2 /s 7.73
Viscosity at 40°C mm2 /s 43.5
Viscosity index - 148
Flash point COC °C 215
Pour point °C -52
Density at 15°C kg/l 0.870

Properties and performances:

* The extremely high viscosity index of each eni ARNICA grade contributes to reducing viscosity variation with temperature.

* The viscosity index improver used has excellent shear resistance under high operating loads, so there is no significant decrease in viscosity during use.

* The low pour point value allows use in a wide range of applications, even in those where ambient temperatures are low.

* High thermal stability and oxidation resistance ensure long service life for eni ARNICA oils. * Their high hydrolytic stability reduces the formation of deposits in the presence of water.

* The very good anti-wear properties of eni ARNICA oils ensure the extension of the service life of friction couplings with relative movement in hydraulic circuits. The Vickers 104C test indicates weight losses for pump components of less than 25 mg. In the FZG gear test, eni ARNICA 32 passes the 11th load stage, and products with higher viscosities pass the 12th stage. eni ARNICA oils also meet the requirements of the following tests: EATON VICKERS 35VQ25 (vane pump), DENISON T6C (vane pump), DENISON P-46 (axial piston pump) and DENISON T6C-20 (combined pump).

* Thanks to its good anti-corrosion properties, it ensures both protection and efficient preservation of metal components in the hydraulic circuit.

* The high demulsification speed of these oils ensures rapid separation of water with which the oils may come into contact.

* eni ARNICA oils have excellent filtration performance, even in the presence of water, through very fine filters (3 µm).

Uses:

eni ARNICA oils are used, in particular, as hydraulic fluids in: - hydraulic and electro-hydraulic servo mechanisms; - shock absorbers and other hydraulic equipment subject to large temperature variations; - hydraulic control valves; - hydraulic signaling (warning) systems; - hydraulic equipment on ships; - control and regulation gears of hydroelectric installations. eni ARNICA oils are recommended as an alternative to hydraulic oils commonly used in control and power transmission systems for all types of machinery which, by construction and heavy operating conditions, require oils with extremely high viscosity indices. In addition, eni ARNICA oils are recommended, in particular, for high precision mechanisms and instruments where torque variations due to viscosity changes must be kept within very strict limits.
