eni Dicrea SX are synthetic oils, based on polyalphaolefins, with antioxidant, anti-rust and anti-wear additives. They are intended, in particular, for the lubrication of air compressors.

Properties and performances:

* Thanks to the special synthetic base and the careful selection of the additive package, the service life of eni Dicrea SX oils used in rotary compressors is three to four times longer than that obtained with similar mineral-based oils, thus substantially reducing the number of interventions and overhauls.

* Due to very good stability at high temperatures, these lubricants prevent the formation of carbon deposits on high-temperature parts of piston compressors.

* Very low pour points allow these oils to be used at low temperatures.

* Through their good anti-corrosion properties highlighted by the results obtained through the ASTM D665 B test, eni Dicrea SX oils ensure effective protection against rust for all metal surfaces with which they come into contact.

* These oils possess good anti-wear properties so that they ensure a proper reduction in friction coupling wear, a particularly important aspect for screw compressors.

* The oils are compatible with the types of rubber commonly used in the manufacture of air compressors.

Oils with ISO viscosity classes: VG 32 and VG 46 have been specially formulated for the lubrication of screw compressors, but can also be used in other types of compressors for which the respective viscosity classes are provided for lubrication.

The change interval for eni Dicrea SX oils can be extended up to 6000…8000 hours under normal operating conditions. In case of severe operating conditions, the oil should be changed at least once a year.

Oils with other viscosity classes have been used with the best results in lubricating piston or vane compressors built by the most renowned manufacturers in the field.
