eni GREASE SM 2 is a gray-black grease, with a homogeneous structure, obtained by dispersing lithium soap in mineral oil and containing molybdenum disulfide (MoS2).

Properties and performance:

* The extremely pure and finely divided molybdenum disulfide, which is part of the eni GREASE SM 2 product, fills the micro-cavities existing on the friction surface and forms a protective film that can perform all the necessary lubrication functions in the event that the grease is removed as a result of mechanical loads, thermal loads or for other reasons.

* The presence of molybdenum disulfide guarantees the maintenance of lubricating properties when re-lubricating is impossible during machine operation or in cases where the respective operation is delayed.

* Due to the very good stability of the grease, relubrication intervals are greatly increased.

Uses:

* eni GREASE SM 2 is used for the lubrication of sliding bearings subjected to very high mechanical loads and thermal shocks, including bearings which, due to their configuration, pose particular wear problems.

* Can be used in the temperature range from -30°C to +120°C.

* High mechanical loads can be due to dynamic conditions (pulsating loads, for example), kinematic characteristics of the system (for example, bearings of oscillating devices), vibrations, etc.

* eni GREASE SM 2 grease can be used as a general lubricant, both for the lubrication of heavily stressed equipment and of parts that cannot be intervened on during the operation of the installation and which can only be lubricated at the beginning of a new operating cycle.
